Town continued:

This is my shadow. Say Hi.

Pretty leaves with pretty colours

Who doesn't like to look at themselves?

 Someone lost their trolley.
Friendly men who wanted their photos taken. They sell stuff
They asked me to come back with prints for them. :P

Icecream man!

Shooting fom the "hip". There is this photographer who took a whole lot of pictures from the hip level.
In my case, shooting from the belly. haha. my camera strap isn't long enough....
Meet Sabelo. He is posing with the crates
Sabelo is a boy from varsity, we are studying the same thing, Interior design. i was at church sqaure when i ran into him. We spent time in town taking photographs and buying leggings and then we went to my flat and ate a loaf and 3/4 of bread... we like bread
He was running among the pigeons for me but the pigeons were not being co-operative.
I was trying to create the typical 'person running through the pigeons' shot but the pigeons weren't having it.
Pigeon with legs. Legs with pigeon. Sabelo/Pigeon man thing.

Red building!
June the 16th. Youth day. Lots of energy
Street restaurant

love how the colours and light progresses in this shot
Sgodi

Getting money for sgodi

Money!

Talking about leggings

Lovely facade. i want to live there

Yay!

Yesterday i went to the fabric shop and bought pretties! i am very excited about them! My favourite is the strawberries, the one on the top of the pile.

I plan to make nice dresses with the fabric. Very nice dresses. Except for the apple print. I want to make a skirt with the apple print. Full. With a band...and pockets, always pockets.

Just wait a bit, i will show off my dresses when they are done

Sgodi is Zulu for 'hole'.
If you have a good bargain shop which people don't know of you call it sgodi. So if you know of a place that you can find really cheap stuff, clothing, shoes, or whatever, you call it sgodi, your own personal discount hole. Think of it like this: you dug up where no one else could.

Thanks to Rorisang for the lesson in African slang. :)

These are the photos i took this morning before i went to school. I absolutely adore living 'in town' and i want to take a million photographs about my stay there. I may not be live there anymore come next month (insert sad face). But i am there now and these are the first 10 photos of 1 000 000...
The taxis always arrive first

i love the morning breeze
I'm not used to living in a flat and it is really warm in comparison to a house, i'm on the 8th floor and there is a lot of warmth beneath me... the first thing i do when i wake up is open the windows. My roomie, Pam, thinks i'm nutty. I can handle that.

Ginger tea and the city, morning routine
Addiction at the moment: lots and lots of ginger tea.

The view from my window

The sun is rising.

Roomie. Yeah. I know. She's in there

She is there! She buries herself in her blankets every night. i think she thinks it's winter. Her hair looks pretty interesting when she emerges though! :D

I love my bike!
The best thing in my life at the moment. Nothing makes me happier than cycling to varsity (maybe 'cos it's downhill). I feel like a hippie and it just makes me so very happy. Everyone should ride bikes.
Morning traffic. If only

When I was younger, somewhere around 19, I liked to press my face up against windows and pull faces at people. Strangers. People I knew. Shop windows, car windows and house windows. Last week I took photos of the faces pulled at me. I laughed a lot when i edited them. :)

Mirah!

Nathan

Hannah

Heather

What faces!
These crazies belong to me. Family! Mirah started, she is very good at this and she has a big mouth. Nathan, Hannah and Heather, not to be out shone by a 7yr old, soon followed. Mom and I laughed!

The Gordon Cheek, prominent.

I have inherited my Father's cheeks, and cheek. Literally and figuratively. Ask my lecturers, they know all about it.

I have moved out. Yes. A week and a half ago. I have a problem though, I dont know how to cook for two people.

Day 1, Monday, Supper: Green salad and pasta salad  (Author, Austen Gordon, both very good salads).
Day 2, Tuesday, Lunch: Green salad and pasta salad. (Author, Austen Gordon, still both very good salads).
Day 2, Tuesday, Supper: Green salad and pasta salad. (Author, Austen Gordon, still both very good salads, I think.. I ate supper elsewhere).

Day 9, Monday, Supper: Green salad and bean pie, once again very good, even on wednesday! :D

This may take a while, but in the meantime we only have to cook twice to three times a week.
